A new 200sqm pavilion in the park, complete with exhibition space, cafe and public toilets. The building is placed on the the existing pathway – orientated towards the distant views. The over-sailling roof encourages visitors to interact with the building as they pass by – a third space which can be used in summer and winter. The main roof structure, constructed using glue-laminated oak, responds to the non-orthogonal geometry found in the nearby Victorian landscape. Large roof lights bring natural light and ventilation into the heart of the building.
