Outside of the box

The client and her family had the unique opportunity to build beautiful new home in the garden of her childhood family home.

Quite literally outside and below the box, the design of the new property featured a basement flat with full amenities creating additional and flexible accommodation for the owners.

Building a four-metre-deep basement structure between the existing period properties was especially challenging and there were a number of tactics employed in order to ensure the building work impacted the neighbours as little as possible.

Above ground, the project was built using a structural insulated panel timber frame approach with the panels being built offsite to reduce time, noise and disturbance on site.
