This striking building was originally designed in the 1970s by local architects. The client sought to sensitively do justice to the original design whilst adapting the home’s aesthetics and functionality for modern family life.
Complexities
Somerfoss’ location at the top of a valley offered unrivalled views over the surrounding countryside. Access to such a site is often challenging and the smooth running of the project was controlled by the MAKE on-Site Manager and Project Surveyor.
Collaboration
Maintaining programme delivery whilst ensuring safety and quality was paramount. Access solutions were communicated in advance through site visits, site maps and then employing clear directional signage and concise delivery instructions.
