Passive House
Sustainability is at the core of this project and undoubtably, Passive House certification will ‘future proof’ this home and its carbon footprint will be negligible.
Arguably more significantly, by breathing new life into a building located on the farm where the client grew up, those childhood memories are now encapsulated in walls where new memories will be formed by the next generation.
A truly sustainable building is one that endures time and indeed, prolongs it.
Class Q
Since 2014, Class Q planning policy allows for residential conversion of an agricultural building.
Transforming a redundant farm building into family home means that it is possible to take advantage of the original and substantial footprint. At over 300sqm, the barn can now feature dedicated pockets of space for home working, open plan family games and hobbies plus a gym.
